Independent Clinical Laboratories was founded in 1969 to offer anatomic & clinical pathology services to physicians and surgery centers nationwide. Due to the high demand for specialized histology services, DermPrep was created to be able to focus primarily on providing Dermatologists and Dermatopathologists with the crucial steps of tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and staining.

 

 

Being a leader in the industry, we were one of the first laboratories to offer 24 hour turn around time without sacrificing quality or service. Our ability to develop specially trained and experienced histotechnologists led to the opening of our own School of Histotechnology in 1985.

 

 

Today, DermPrep is housed within a full service laboratory facility which processes 80,000 biopsies a year. The facility operates with 70 employees, 20 technical employees and has within the facility to 2 general pathologists and 2 dermatopathologists.
